Snow Chains can be an absolute essential when traveling in New Zealand during the winter months. The mountain roads can be affected by snowfall, so it’s best to always carry chains and know how to use them. Snow chains are only available from our South Island branches at Queenstown and Christchurch.
Many of the NZ ski fields have unsealed or steep, snow-covered access roads so we recommend you can rent and use snow chains on all our Moto Car Rental vehicles.
